Wellnomics Ltd

Media release, 18 December, Wellnomics Ltd, Christchurch New Zealand: New customer wins in the USA and Europe for Christchurch software company Wellnomics include the world's largest global supplier of reusable and human space systems and services. The Florida based company has been using Wellnomic's WorkPace® product for several years and has now signed up to use the new Risk Management software.

At the same time, the first European customers have been signed for Wellnomics Risk Management by Netherlands distributor ErgoDirect. Akzo Nobel Car Finishes; IT specialists Cap Gemini and pension fund managers AZL are the first European companies to step up from Wellnomics WorkPace to the comprehensive Risk Management programme that offers full reporting and management tools to protect office workers from work related injuries.

To support Ergo Direct with their sales plan for Risk Management, Wellnomics (www.wellnomics.com) will shortly open an office in the Netherlands and relocate a New Zealand sales director to focus solely on the Netherlands. This will be Wellnomics’ first office outside their New Zealand base and demonstrates their commitment to the Dutch market.

“Wellnomics congratulates ErgoDirect on securing the first European contracts for Risk Management,” says Wellnomics’ European sales director Alan Vickers. “We also wish them continued success in their newly opened premises and look forward to being able to make use of the state of the art venue for running client training and education programmes.”

The health and wellness software company's inroads to the US market include new contracts with oil giant Chevron; global pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly; chemical manufacturer Rohm and Haas and a freshly inked deal with silicon chip manufacturer Intel.

According to Wellnomics managing director Dr Kevin Taylor, the US wins are the result of a concerted effort to significantly increase the company's presence in the States during New Zealand's 2007 Export Year.

"We have a focused strategy to work with new vertical markets in North America, including appointing Trevor Foster as International sales director focused on the US market, and working with a team of MBA students from UCLA on our distribution strategy in the US," Dr Taylor says.

UCLA's Anderson School of Management students have been working with Wellnomics since June this year, as part of the NZTE supported Global Access Program (GAP). The report from their research was presented on December 8, with recommendations that are expected to assist in guiding the company's future steps into the massive US market.

Dr Taylor says that Wellnomics' offshore success has been boosted by a number of NZTE grants that have assisted firstly with developing the Risk Management product, and secondly with developing their new market strategies.

About Wellnomics Risk Management

Wellnomics Risk Management® has been developed in co-operation with research institute TNO. The programme analyses and controls the risk factors that affect the health, wellbeing and productivity of office workers. This is done through the collection and comparison of data regarding computer use, work patterns, and personal and work related stress factors – all elements that can contribute to computer related injuries.

Wellnomics Risk Management translates this information in pragmatic solutions and recommendations for each risk group, both on personal and organisational level, allowing HR and safety & health managers to take specific and effective measures to reduce these risks.
